Children enrolled in our VPK program continue their development in preparation for kindergarten. Children focus on a morning routine of calendar, weather, classroom jobs, outside play, age appropriate bible stories/Jesus time, crafts, story time, math, science, computers, and show and tell. They also master writing their name, recognizing and identifying letters of the alphabet (both upper and lower case), and numbers up to 20. Incorporated into their daily routine are the VPK Education Standards, which are broken into the following five domains:

  • Physical Development
  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Language, Communication, and Emergent Literacy
  • Cognitive Development and General Knowledge

Our teachers use multiple assessment tools to evaluate the progress of each child throughout the school year. The VPK Assessment which is distributed through the Florida Office of Early Learning. The VPK Assessment is given up to 3 times per school year and entered into a database where a report is generated and shared with parents showing the child's progress throughout the year. In addition to the formal assessment, teachers will also administer monthly assessments tracking writing and letter identification capabilities as well.

VPK students take part in our Christmas program and will have a VPK graduation in the spring. They also participate in the following weekly activities:

  • Monday - Creative Movement ($5 per class)
